A gentle, supportive start to your child's nursery journey
Starting nursery is a big change and getting off to a great start is essential for both children and parents. Before you join us, we will send you an ALL ABOUT ME form so we can learn about your child's routines, preferences, and any special requirements.
Our experienced team will work closely with you to create a personalised settling in plan. Some children adapt quickly, while others need more time - and that's perfectly okay. We follow your child's lead and never rush the process.
Before your child starts, we'll introduce you to their Key Person - a dedicated member of staff who will be your child's special person at nursery. They'll be responsible for:
Approx. 1 hour with parent
You and your child visit together for an hour. You stay throughout, exploring the environment together while your child meets their Key Person and begins to feel comfortable in their new surroundings.
2-3 hours without parent
Once your child seems comfortable, we progress to a short session without you. This gives your child time to settle into routines, enjoy activities and begin building relationships with staff and other children.
Your booked session length
We extend to a full session, including mealtimes and rest time (if applicable). After this stage, your child will be ready to start their regular booked sessions with confidence.
